This policy explains what information is collected when you visit coreymachanic.com, how it’s used, and the choices you have. It’s kept intentionally simple, because the site collects very little.
Who I am
This website belongs to Corey Machanic, a solo UX/UI design and web consultant based in Burlington, Vermont. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can reach me at corey@coreymachanic.com.
What I collect
Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site—things like which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located, and what browser or device they’re on. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information, and some of it (such as your IP address) may be handled by Google on my behalf. This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.
Contact form. If you fill out the contact form on this site (powered by Gravity Forms), I collect whatever information you choose to provide—typically your name, email address, and your message. I only use this to read and respond to what you sent.
That’s all. I don’t collect anything beyond the above.
How I use your information
I use the analytics data to see how the site is performing and to improve it. I use anything you submit through the contact form solely to respond to you. I don’t sell your information, I don’t share it for advertising, and I don’t use it for any purpose other than the ones described here.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings if you’d prefer not to be tracked. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across websites using Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Who else is involved
Two third-party services help run this site:
- Google Analytics – website analytics. See Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Gravity Forms – handles the contact form on this site.
I don’t share your information with anyone beyond what’s needed for these services to work.
How long I keep it
Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain a record of our correspondence. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard settings. If you’d like me to delete a message you sent me, just ask.
Your choices
You can ask me what information I have from a message you sent, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it—just email corey@coreymachanic.com. You can also opt out of analytics tracking using the cookie and opt-out options described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
