Yo! HeadsUp

Yo! HeadsUp^® is a fullscreen alert app for macOS that helps people stay on schedule without breaking their focus. I created it after repeatedly missing meetings—not because I forgot, but because I was completely absorbed in the work. Like many creatives, I’d get deep into design, code, or writing, and the usual system notifications just weren’t cutting through. Yo! HeadsUp fixes that with a bold, customizable fullscreen reminder that appears before your next calendar event or Apple Reminder—complete with a countdown, details, and built-in controls. It’s elegant, minimal, and impossible to ignore—helping you stay in the zone and on time. The latest version adds optional alert sounds, a fully redesigned Settings experience, and a complete refactor under the hood. I built the whole thing from scratch by diving headfirst into macOS app development, with a lot of help from Anthropic’s AI model, Claude.
