Yo! HeadsUp

Yo! HeadsUp is a fullscreen calendar alert app for macOS that helps people stay on schedule without breaking their focus. I created it after repeatedly missing meetings—not because I forgot, but because I was completely absorbed in the work. Like many creatives, I’d get deep into design, code, or writing, and the usual system notifications just weren’t cutting through (i.e., notification blindness). Yo! HeadsUp fixes that by showing a bold, customizable fullscreen reminder a few minutes before your next event. It’s designed to be elegant, minimal, and impossible to ignore—helping you stay in the zone and on time. I built it from scratch by diving into macOS app development for the first time, with a lot of help from ChatGPT and Google Gemini along the way.
